Fuji Xerox Launches ApeosPort-IV / DocuCentre-IV series – the Eco and User-friendly Digital Colour Multifunction DevicesTotal Document Solution Provider spearheads eco-office revolution through its Unique Ecological WorkplaceKUALA LUMPUR, 19 November 2009 – In response to the growing attention on "eco-friendly" workplaces, Fuji Xerox has unveiled the 4th generation of their world renowned digital colour multi-function devices – the ApeosPort-IV/DocuCentre-IV*. Designed and engineered with the environment in mind, the ApeosPort-IV/ DocuCentre-IV will deliver superb colour, speed, better reliability and advanced user-friendly features. During the launch, Fuji Xerox's Ecological Workplace, which combines eco-friendly products with smart work ways to empower business were also introduced. Lower Power Consumption Means Higher Energy Savings For the first time ever, Fuji Xerox has now replaced the traditional fuser with a new Induction Heating (IH) approach which consumes 25% less energy while producing the world's quickest start-up time of just 3 seconds. Even the fusing of the EA-Eco toner used is now 20⁰C lower than that of conventional toners; cutting power consumption by around 15 percent. Explained Mr. Masahiko Saito, President of Fuji Xerox Malaysia, "All businesses can play a part in lowering their carbon footprint. Fuji Xerox allows businesses to push the green agenda without having to sacrifice business efficiency and security that they need from their multifunction devices." Fuji Xerox Ecological Workplace – More than just reducing environmental impact To overcome these issues, Fuji Xerox introduced three main areas of Ecological Workplace focus: Optimisation of Output, Optimisation of IT Devices and Document Management, and Optimisation of Print-On-Demand. With efficient device optimisation output and allocation, energy consumption would be lower, resulting in savings in time and money. By using IC cards authentication on output devices, different levels of user permission settings can be customised. Besides managing usage, this technique also prevents information leakage and uncollected print-outs. To optimize IT Devices and Document Management, users can reduce the need to deploy multiple servers by using Fuji Xerox's DocuShare enterprise document management solution. File servers from various departments and locations can be combined into one repository which leads to a more efficient workflow and enhances information sharing. As for optimisation of Print-On-Demand, end-users are able to generate documents such as brochures and product information as and when required. This helps to cut down the need to transport printed documents to various office locations, saves storage space and cost. The launch of ApeosPort-IV/DocuCentre-IV and showcasing of the Ecological Workplace capped another great step forward for Fuji Xerox. "While we can assume that Fuji Xerox is gradually moving towards software-driven green solutions, the ApeosPort-IV/DocuCentre-IV series of devices is a testament to our commitment in an eco-centric direction. It is a culmination of our overall strategy to empower businesses to reduce cost, improve productivity, strengthen security and save the ecosphere in one seamless and efficient workflow." Masahiko Saito commented.The ApeosPort-IV/DocuCentre-IV range of MFDs contributes approximately 35% towards Fuji Xerox's overall revenue with expected sales of the ApeosPort IV/DocuCentre-IV series to be around 1,000 units in the next 12 months.
