High-speed scanning at 70 ipm is possible both in color and monochrome. The size as well as whether the document is scanned in color or monochrome can be automatically determined, enabling a large volume of paper documents to be quickly converted to electronic files. Also the duplex automatic document feeder can hold up to 110 originals. These features contribute to quick scanning.

Scanned data can be directly saved to a PC, server, or USB media or sent as an e-mail attachment. The preview screen enables the user to check each image before sending it and therefore prevents mistakes and pointless work. It is also possible to notify authenticated users of the scanned document’s URL by e-mail.

Simultaneous data conversion when scanning - Scanned data is converted to an electronic file in a file format selected according to use. Also, DocuWorks documents and PDF files that include text information can be easily created even without dedicated OCR software. This is useful for full document searches and document reuse.

Scan security - directly specify a password for the main unit when using the push scan function.

Specific Color Scan - This is an innovative function that reduces the file size of a document using few colors to a size as small as a black and white document while retaining the colors. This is useful for documents or drawings that have been proofread, stamped, or highlighted. The file size of a text document using few colors can be reduced more than when using the conventional high compression function. Therefore, the file can be easily attached to e-mail, ensuring reliable and efficient communication with other offices.
