Apeos Solution

Apeos is the core name in the development of a number of products. ApeosPort is the name under which Fuji Xerox will develop devices; software for connecting devices will be produced under the name ApeosWare while third party affiliations and third party software will be promoted under the name ApeosPartners.

ApeosPort have the following 3 important features

• Flexible linkage with the existing systems in customer's company as well as other companies' systems.
• Development with less manpower / cost with shorter lead-time.
• Flexible adaptation to system / organization changes

Fuji Xerox offers the software development kit “Apeos IntegrationPlus” which discloses the specifications of the multifunction device ApeosPort by providing a Web Services interface.

This would facilitate the development work according to customers' environment and with lower cost shorter time-frame.

Collaborative Solution: Enterprise Content Management to Apeos Port

Introducing the first of its kind, Fuji Xerox now offers an Apeos linkage solution for DocuShare, DSLink for ApeosPort. It provides web access to DocuShare server directly from the user interface (customized Web Browser) of our latest multifunction devices – the ApeosPort series.

With this Apeos linkage solution, it transforms an ApeosPort device into a DocuShare Portal. It enables document-intensive organizations to become even more efficient by addressing their requirements of simple storage and retrieval.

** The DSLink for ApeosPort module is built on top of Fuji Xerox’s latest technology, Apeos iiX or Apeos Internet Integration framework based on XML, which transforms the MFD into an Intelligent Portal.

Features:

• An easy to use web application, which is seamlessly integrated with DocuShare and ApeosPort device. Look and feel on the customized Web Browser is consistent with DocuShare Windows Client application and user operations are simplified for ease of use.
• Users can access DocuShare through the customized Web Browser of the ApeosPort device to scan and upload documents, as easy as making copies using conventional multifunction devices.
• Through the ApeosPort user interface, users can select the DocuShare folders to upload the scanned documents, as well as, enter their respective properties, such as title, summary, keywords.
• Through the touch screen, users are able to select and perform driverless, high-speed printing of file formats such as Microsoft® Office, PDF or DocuWorks, at the ApeosPort being operated on, without first having to download the documents to a client PC.
• Same user access rights of DocuShare server are enforced, therefore, security is not compromised. In addition, ApeosPort devices support SSL for more secured and encrypted communications.
• Server-based licensing enables organizations to deploy just one DocuShare server installed with DSLink for ApeosPort to simultaneously integrate with unlimited multifunction devices.

  With direct walk-up access and simplified operations from the user interface, even one who is not accustomed to PC usage, can store or retrieve information easily, without much guidance and without having to move between client PC and devices.
• Increased flexibility with On-demand Print capability
  As and when the need arise, users can access required documents stored on the DocuShare server in their native formats such as Microsoft® Office, PDF, DocuWorks and print directly to the ApeosPort device being operated on, according to desired print settings, anytime, anywhere, as long as the ApeosPort device is linked with the DocuShare server.
• Reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  With the support of simultaneous integration with unlimited multifunction devices with just a single server, users are able to access DocuShare server directly from any ApeosPort device without the need to be assigned a dedicated client PC or use additional client software.

Solutions with APEOS DMP Technology

Your office now uses a digital purchasing system, but as the quotations of the planned purchase are paper documents, you will need to scan and send to the approver by mail, apart from having to key in the application via the purchasing system. This is troublesome since the approver will need to check the application data against the paper/scanned quotations.
